DAIRY COUNCIL OF ARIZONA BRINGS ROCK & ROLL NUTRITION SHOW TO ARIZONA SCHOOLS
Jump with Jill encourages Fuel Up to Play 60 schools to “Crank Up the Calcium!” for bone health
Tempe, AZ – January 9, 2018 – The world’s only rock & roll nutrition show Jump with Jill is rocking 25 schools this spring in the Phoenix and Tucson areas. Thanks to Arizona Dairy Farmers and the Dairy Council of Arizona, the nationally acclaimed tour is available at no cost to participating schools. The Crank Up the Calcium! Jump with Jill Live Tour encourages students to tune in to their bone health by getting three servings of dairy every day. That means rolling with the stars of the bone building crew: milk, cheese, and yogurt. With tour stops from Feb 26 – March 23, the school-wide performance will serve as an event for National Nutrition Month and a kickoff for the Fuel Up to Play 60 program.
Performances are closed to the public but media are welcome. Please contact us for the detailed schedule if you’d like to cover the event. Selected schools in the following districts will be on the tour:
- Cave Creek USD
- Scottsdale USD
- Higley USD
- Gilbert Public Schools
- Catalina Foothills USD
- Tanque Verde USD
“We are excited about our new Jump with Jill partnership as it helps bring our important health and wellness message to life for Arizona students in a fun and memorable way,” said Patricia Johnson, MS, RD, Director of Nutrition Services at Dairy Council of Arizona. “Fuel Up to Play 60, our flagship youth wellness program, promotes consumption of healthy food and increased physical activity for students and these entertaining live events help tremendously to drive home the message.”
Created by a Registered Dietitian and musician, the Emmy-nominated nutrition education program Jump with Jill has been performed all over the world for more than a million kids. Armed with catchy songs and upbeat dance moves, Jump with Jill takes childhood obesity by storm, serving as a kid-appropriate approach for kicking off wellness committee initiatives, reinforcing classroom learning, and supporting a healthier cafeteria menu.
“We are so excited to activate Arizona’s Fuel Up to Play 60 program with our show,” says Jill Jayne, MS, RD, creator of the Jump with Jill program. “We talk, rap, and sing about the important and difficult work that dairy farmers do every day to bring us the powerhouse beverage: milk!”
That is, if you think you can handle this much healthy rock!
